The European Commission accuses the “For You” feed of creating a “rabbit hole” effect. These are preliminary findings, but the platform’s owner faces a fine of up to 6 percent of global turnover, and a redesign of this feed in the EU is on the table.
It will be possible to file a complaint with the authority about a platform, marketplace or search engine that does not comply with EU regulations. However, it will not be another appeal instance for every moderation decision made by platforms.
Reports from Polish services are to be handled under an expedited procedure. At the same time, work is underway on a law implementing the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), which provides for penalties for platforms calculated on the basis of global turnover.
After the president's veto in January, MPs adopted a new version of the regulations implementing the EU Digital Services Act. Blocking orders will be carried out by internet service providers, including services with user-generated content.
